Last month we showed what eleven of you had been making. This month we asked again, with a hint that something spooky for the end of October would be welcome. You delivered: a Venom that glows in the dark, a hooded skull, a world on fire. Eight makers from five countries this time. Credit to the makers, as always.
Spooky season
Blondy Tuft, France

Delphine answered the spooky brief in one photo: Venom, tufted in glow-in-the-dark yarn. In daylight it is a black rug with a pale green grin. With the lights off, the eyes and teeth are all you see in a dark room. Spooky stuff!

Christiaan, Germany

Two very different rugs from Christiaan. A hooded skull with blue stripes on the hood and a cut-out silhouette, and an abstract piece in purple, pink, blue and grey with heavy black outlines, like stained glass.
Characters and fan favourites
Patricia, Germany

A classic: the Grinch, peering over a red blanket with a Santa hat pulled down to his eyebrows. The fluffy white trim on the hat and the sleeves is almost 3D like due to the carving, which is what makes it pop. A little early for Christmas, but he does look like he is up to something.

Constantin, Romania

Constantin sent these great colorful pieces. A tiger’s head in cream, blue, red and ochre, cut to shape. A large rug of a road at night, with skulls in sunglasses, a motorbike, monster trucks and a city burning on the horizon. And three smaller rugs made as a set: a basketball, a dinosaur in a jersey, and a cartoon face coming apart in yellow splashes.
Big cats and bright wings
Isabelle, France

Something new: Isabelle combines tufting with mosaic. Her tiger has tufted fur in black, white, blue, ochre and red, and eyes set in glass mosaic that catch the light differently from the yarn around them.
Mónica, Tuft Spain, Spain

Mónica runs a tufting studio in Madrid (Tuft Spain) and shares her Mariposa Geométrica: a butterfly built from sharp colorful triangles. If you are in Madrid, give her a visit!

Abstract, with a face in it
Damla Gurpinar, Netherlands

Damla is a Turkish artist living in Utrecht, Netherlands. She shares some of her recent pieces. In her own words:
“My work focuses on bringing spaces to life through vibrant colour palettes, mixed pile heights, and rich, tactile textures. Within these abstract compositions, I love hiding subtle characters that invite viewers to stop and discover new details. Crafted in versatile, smaller sizes, these pieces easily adapt to any space, whether placed on the floor, hung as wall art, or styled on unique surfaces.”

İpek, Spain

İpek was in last month’s edition and has since finished everything that was still on the frame. Still unfinished but ready to share. A face with two different eyes, one blue, one with red lashes, over stripes of blue and brown. A coffee machine with a red cup on a blue checked tablecloth. And a leaf in dark green on cream, with a brown arch behind it.
