AK-1N Duo Cut & Loop Tufting Gun – Versatility for All Levels

The AK-1N was released in 2023 and the upgrade of the classic AK-1. It’s a proven, reliable machine that only requires regular cleaning and oiling to keep it running smoothly.

With the ability to switch between cut and loop pile, the AK-1N gives you flexibility for different tufting styles. Out of the box, it comes set to a 14mm pile height, but you can adjust it between 8mm and 16mm. However, changing the pile height is a delicate process—it’s not as simple as flipping a switch. Several parts of the machine need to be carefully adjusted and aligned, so we recommend only doing this once you’re comfortable with its mechanics.

Since the AK-1N is a mechanical tufting gun, you don’t need an air compressor to use it. However, because of its mechanical design, it does make some noise, as the metal parts hit each other to create the stitch and cut motion.

Pros:
Switches between cut & loop pile – Perfect for experimenting with different textures.
Lightweight – Easy to handle at 1.4kg, great for long tufting sessions.

Cons:
A bit loud – Not ideal for those who can’t make noise in their studio or home.

AK-1H Long Pile 40mm Tufting Gun – For Extra Fluffy Rugs

A long pile tufting machine is a great choice if you already have some tufting experience and want to take your work to the next level. Designed specifically for creating plush, high-pile rugs up to 40mm, it gives your projects extra depth and texture—all without the need for an air compressor.

With the ability to switch between cut and loop pile and adjust speed, you have full control over your tufting process. It’s a bit heavier (2kg) and larger than the AK-1N Duo, but that extra size comes with a big payoff: it lets you create statement pieces with serious wow factor for rugs and tapestries.

Pros:
Creates high-pile rugs (up to 40mm) – Perfect for soft, plush designs.
Switches between cut & loop pile – Gives flexibility in texture and style.

Cons:
Heavier than other models (2 kg) – Can be tiring for long sessions.
Less suited for fine details – The long pile can make intricate patterns harder to tuft.

AK-V Tufting Gun – Innovation & Precision

The AK-V is the latest advancement in tufting technology, released in July 2024. This machine combines precision, ease of use, and durability.

Like our other model, the AK-1N, it allows you to tuft cut and loop pile styles. Has the option for adjustable pile height (although difficult to set up) and lightweight design of 1.4 kh are all features that they share.

Unique features of the AK-V include quieter operation, built-in LED lighting for better visibility, smoother tufting, and a real-time speed display that allows you to adjust and fine-tune your speed with precision. These upgrades make tufting more comfortable and controlled, but they also contribute to a slight price bump compared to the AK-1N. If you value enhanced visibility, better stitch accuracy, and a quieter workspace, the AK-V is worth the investment for a smoother tufting experience.

Pros:
Real-time speed display & LED lighting – Enhances precision and visibility while tufting.
Quiet operation – Less noisy than other tufting machines, making it more comfortable to the ears.

Cons:
Limited to 8-16mm pile height – Not for those looking to create extra fluffy rugs.
Slightly more expensive than AK-1N – But the advanced features justify the price.
